Deja vu Sake Co. has become the WSET approved program provider (APP) in 2020.

We are currently offering WSET Level 1 Award in Sake, WSET Level 2 Award in Sake (A new course scheduled to launch in April 2024!) ands WSET Level 3 Award in Sake.

WSET Level 1 Award in Sake

The Level 1 Award in Sake teaches you about how Sake is made, in a way that explains what you are tasting in the glass. This is one of the best ways to learn about sake. You’ll come out of the course with a great start to really understanding Sake.

A beginner-level introduction to sake for those starting a career in the industry or pursuing an interest in sake.

For individuals new to the subject, this qualification offers a hands-on introduction to the world of sake.

You’ll explore the main styles and types of sake through sight, smell, and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

WSET Level 2 Award in Sake

In the Level 2 Award in Sake, the student is exposed to a much greater body of information and they get to taste a significantly larger number of samples.

Suitable both for beginners and for those who already have a professional or general interest in sake.

In order to study the WSET Level 2 Award in Sake, no prior knowledge is required.

It is suitable wherever a good level of sake knowledge is required to underpin job skills and competencies, for example in the customer service
and sales functions of hospitality, retailing and wholesaling industries.

It is also useful for those who have a general interest in sake and wish to broaden their knowledge.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

WSET Level 3 Award in Sake

This is a very well organised and detailed sake education course. You will gain valuable insights into the world of sake from many different angles.

An advanced level qualification for professionals working with sake or sake enthusiasts.

For individuals seeking to develop their expertise in sake, this qualification will provide you with a detailed understanding of the production methods that affect the style, quality, and price of sake.

Upon completion, you will be able to assess sakes accurately and use this information and your understanding of sakes to make authoritative recommendations.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

It is highly recommended to study for this course before the course commencement date.

We will send you the study pack, as well as sign you up for the online study course, once you are registered.

*For those who previously attended and sat the Exam for Level 3 Sake course, please be aware that the course contents have changed since August 2022.

As of February 1st 2023, you can no longer sit for the exam in the previous format/contents.
