The International Wine Challenge, the world’s most influential and rigorously judged wine competition, has announced its results for “SAKE” category.
IWC normally happens in April each year, inviting many prestigious judges from around the world to London, who judges all the entries blindly.
Deja vu Sake director, Yukino has been participating every year as Sake judge, too.
However, due to COVID-19 related restrictions, they postponed the competition from April to November, and as they could not invite the judges from overseas, so the judging was done by the UK judges only.
This year, Sake category had 1401 entries over 9 categories. The Sakes which won Gold, Silver, Bronze medals were announced, as well as Commended Sakes.
Team Deja vu had great results, especially from Tengumai who won 2 Gold medals with their entries this year. There were only 88 Gold medals this year, among 1401 entries.
They will choose the winner out of all Gold medals from each category, who will be announced as Trophy Sake on December 3rd, 2020.
And the ultimate winner out of 9 Trophy Sakes will be announced as “Champion Sake” on December 7th, 2020.
Best of luck to 2 Sakes from Tengumai!!
